More than 50 people are feared dead following the crash of a TransAsia Airways passenger plane in Taiwan. Taiwan's CNA news agency says the twin-engine turboprop plowed into the ground just outside of airport today while attempting an emergency landing. Heavy rain and strong winds were reported in the area in the wake of Typhoon Matmo. A photo of the crash scene shows twisted metal and debris strewn about the area.
Malaysia Airlines, which has lost two planes this year, tweeted about today's crash in Taiwan saying "Our thoughts are with all those on board TransAsia Airways #GE222, their families and loved ones."
